Diecast Buses Interactive Photo Gallery
Welcome
Welcome to the new Fotopic site for Diecast Buses Interactive, created in the first week of May 2005. It's still in the early stages of being pulled together and will be built up slowly as time permits over the next few months. Many thanks to the manufacturers who have supplied pictures we can use and to Fotopic whose excellent software makes it all possible.

One new feature to our site is the inclusion of shots of the real buses being modelled by the manufacturers, the idea being that if we don't have a shot of the actual bus selected, we can still show representatives of the batch or class. Hopefully Dbi members will find this useful and will enjoy having a look here from time to time.

Occasionally, we may put in a special feature relating to a particular development or model and this can remain on permanently or can be removed after a few weeks, depending on interest shown on the stats counters. The first of these is a selection of Malta Swifts taken in the various rebuilt conditions currently operating on the island, fostered by the Britbus Malta Swift.

Enjoy.

Best Wishes

Harry, Donald and Doug.

    29th Nov 2006Octo Models 2006 - 2007
Octo Models Limited have announced their first fully finished diecast model, featuring a D type CIE bodied Leyland Atlantean PDR1. This model will be released early in 2007 and is a white metal body cast in one piece. The first version is in the blue and cream livery featuring preserved Atlantean D415.
1st May 2005Forthcoming EFE and OOC Models for Real........
A selection of photographs of vehicles being represented by forthcoming models from OOC or EFE. This may not always reflect the exact vehicle being modelled, but will depict one of the class or batch involved, or perhaps one of the type in the same Group livery with a sister fleet. Hopefully this degree of compromise will be forgiven to allow the photograph to be put on the site.
26th Aug 2005Forthcoming CMNL Models for Real
A small selection of vehicles announced as being modelled by Creative Master. This collection will grow in accordance with whichever fleets I have photogrpahed since turning digital - it's not my intention to scan slides for future releases. Liveries will necessarily be an exact match, but will provide an idea of what's on offer - for example, the Stagecoach West Unimotion identity varies from bus to bus.

    17th Jul 2005Black Prince, Morley
This is a collection of scanned slides from my collection, all showing vehicles operated by Black Prince of Morley. Sadly Black Prince cease trading as an operator of local bus services in July 2005 and these slides show a selection of the interesting vehicles and individualistic livery applications the fleet has carried. There is of course a model connection through the forthcoming Britbus commemorative Scania and Metropolitan.

I've long intended to create some more collections for my own Fotopic sites of fleets I've been fond of from my slides, and this seems an ideal opportunity to commemorate the passing of the company. For me, a avid Ailsa fan, it was an exciting fleet to sample in the 1990's, many of which I'd travelled on with their previous owners.
    4th Jan 2006ALERT - STOLEN KIT MODEL
An identical model to this Little Bus Company kit built Bristol KS/ECW in the livery of Brighton and Hove District was stolen from the Friends of King Alfred Running on New Years Day, 1st January 2006. The actual model stolen shows destination 38 Coombe Drive and has different registration/fleet number and garage code.

The owner, John Booth, would be delighted to learn of it's whereabout and to have it returned. Any Dbi member able to assist in anyway or who notices the model for sale anywhere is asked to contact John Booth directly or any member of Dbi's management team on dbimanagement@yahoo.com if they can assist.

    Thanks to all.
1st May 2005A Swift Maltese Interlude
The Britbus AEC Swift has attracted favourable comment from collectors and demand for the early releases has exceeded demand. The replication of the Malta Swift EBY534 is an interesting variation for collectors and is one of the few Swifts which has remained (until recently) in almost original condition on the island. This collection, taken in October 2003, shows some of the Swifts currently operating in Malta, some twenty years after the type had disappeared from London's streets.

I'll leave this collection on for a few weeks unless requested to retain it for longer. These shots are all digital images taken with a Fuji Finepix 4700 - all my earlier Malta stuff is on 35mmslide.
